  • Loose snow, 0 to 5 cm accumulation
  • Watch for changing conditions: listen to weather reports
  • Wear properly-fitted footwear with non-slip soles
  • Don’t rush – walk slowly

  • Walk with a buddy when possible

  • Ponded water, icy sections (usually during mid-late spring)
  • Watch for changing conditions: freezing and thawing conditions may cause slippery walkways
  • Pay attention to weather reports
  • Wear properly-fitted footwear with non-slip soles
  • Walk slowly; sidewalks may be slippery
  • Wait until walkways are cleared before going
  • Walk with a buddy
  • Tell a friend or loved one where you are going and when you will return
  • Carry a cell phone, cab fare and I.D.
  • Tell someone where you are going and what time you are expected back.
